What this build is for
The high-end bunker hauler. The Cutlass Black is the recommended-tier bunker runner; this is what you upgrade to when bunkers become your primary loop. 174 SCU bay carries the Greycat STV (or any small ground vehicle), four S5 turrets handle the air leg, and the cargo bay swallows whatever the bunker drops.
- 174 SCU bay = Greycat STV + a real cargo haul on the same trip
- 4× S5 turrets = the air leg is over before you land
- Multicrew capable (turret gunners) but solo-flyable
- The "I do bunkers full-time" pick
The build
- Wing turrets: 4× amrs_lasercannon_s5 Omnisky XV S5 cannons. alpha energy — same family as the C2's wing pair, doubled.
- Missiles: stock 4× mrck_s05_rsi_constellation Constellation S5 racks. The pre-bunker softening kit.
- Power: stock 2× powr_just_s02_diligence_scitem Diligence S2.
- Shield: stock shld_basl_s03_stronghold_scitem Stronghold S3 (the same shield model the Paladin uses).
- The whole pitch is the cargo bay. Park an STV in there before you take off.
On the STV pairing
- Greycat STV is the small ground vehicle CIG positioned for bunker work — fast, fits in tight cargo bays, drives onto bunker pads.
- Carrying ANY rover works (URSA, ROC, Pulse). STV is just the canonical pairing because of size + speed.
- Ground vehicles let you skirt bunker turrets that one-shot infantry on the ground walk (RSI community post on Taurus + STV bunker runs).
Why Taurus over Cutlass Black
- Cutlass Black: cheap, recommended-tier, no cargo bay big enough for an STV.
- Taurus: 3× the cargo, 2× the air firepower (4× S5 vs Cutlass's S3 wings), real multicrew capability.
- ggwtb 4.7.2 names the Taurus as the most versatile current platform: "no snub bay means pure grid space, allowing you to drive in any rover for bunker runs" (source).
- GameRant's multicrew guide explicitly positions Taurus as the upgrade pick above Cutlass Black (source).
Stats at a glance
Burst DPS4,400, Shield HP90,000, EM signature71,317, SCM speed180m/s, Cargo174SCU. Roughly equal burst DPS to the Guardian MX with 3.4× the cargo and the same shield HP — the trade is signature (loudest hull in the slate) and SCM speed (180 vs 208).
When not to use this build
- Solo bunker runs on a budget. Cutlass Black is the recommended-tier pick. You don't need the Taurus's bay until you're running bunkers as a profession.
- Cap-class combat. S5 cannons are above the armor threshold for fighters but won't reliably crack capital armor. Use a Paladin for that.
- Stealth approaches. ~71k EM is the loudest hull in the entire slate. The Taurus arrives announced.
- Long-haul cargo without bunker work. Hull B does it cheaper; C2 does it bigger.
What patches this is good for
Authored against build 4.7.2-LIVE.11674325. Taurus stock loadout is unchanged across 4.7.x. The "Taurus + STV" bunker pattern is community-validated as 4.7-current across multiple sources.
Highlighted cards are variant changes.
