MISC Prospector

What this build is for

The consensus solo miner in 4.7. Cheapest functional mining ship, fits one 32 SCU container, right scale for Stanton-internal asteroid and surface-deposit work.

• Returning owner who's done a tutorial run or two
• Not for Pyro, not for high-density rocks

The build

• Defensive weapons: 2× klwe_laserrepeater_s1 CF-117 Bulldog laser repeaters in the empty S1 mounts. Deterrent only — not going to win you a fight.
• Mining arm: stock misc_prospector_mining_arm. Head and modifiers are configure-at-vendor (Pyro Gateway refinery deck for heads, Levski/Nyx for modifiers).
• Systems stock: powr_just_s02_trommel_scitem Trommel PP (laser-uptime headroom), cool_just_s02_snowfall_scitem Snowfall S2 cooler, 3× shld_basl_s01_bulwark_scitem Bulwark S1 shields.

On the mining laser pick (data gap)

• Community 4.7 consensus: Hofstede S1 (beginner) or Helix S1 (vet), with Rieger C3 power module + Focus III window modifier (ggwtb mining loadouts).
• Neither head nor the modifier components are in our scunpacked ingestion yet — modifiers nest inside the laser head and our normalizer doesn't recurse.
• Verifiable S1 alternates in our data: Pitman (Drake), Arbor MH1 (Musashi). Both work but lack the explicit consensus stamp.
• Follow-up build coming when ingestion catches up.

On 4.7's mining changes

• New high-density Nyx rocks cannot be solo-cracked with a Prospector — mark them, return with a MOLE.
• Mining infrastructure expanded: Levski (Nyx) for modifier modules; Pyro Gateway refinery deck stocks laser heads. (ggwtb mining guide)

Stats at a glance

Burst DPS400 (token defense), Shield HP8,100, EM signature27,335, Cargo32SCU, SCM speed156m/s. High EM is the Prospector's reality — freighter-class hull with mining-tuned power. If you're seen, you flee.

When not to use this build

• Combat. Bulldogs are deterrence, not armament.
• Pyro mining. Take a MOLE with crew, or wait for an org op.
• High-density rocks (4.7-new). Solo Prospector can't crack them. Note and return with a MOLE.
• Salvage / hauling. Cargo bay is ore-shaped. Use a Cutlass or Hull B.

What patches this is good for

Authored against build 4.7.2-LIVE.11674325. Prospector stock loadout unchanged across 4.7.x. The patch added new mining content (high-density rocks, Levski/Pyro Gateway sourcing) without rebalancing existing components.
