The patch finally delivered the Sabre stealth fantasy: passive cross-section detection is gone, so a properly-tuned Sabre can close to weapons range before announcing itself.

What this build is for
Stealth that finally works. 4.7.0 removed passive cross-section detection — your idle profile no longer broadcasts. Only EM/IR matter now, and only when an active radar pings you.

The build
- Weapons: 4× behr_ballisticrepeater_s3 Shredder S3 ballistic repeaters. cool-running — less weapon heat than equivalent lasers, low IR during firing.
- Power plants: 2× powr_tydt_s01_slipstream_scitem Slipstream S1, replacing stock SonicLites. Lowest EM contribution from the largest signature contributor on most fighters.
- Stock shld_asas_s01_shimmer_scitem Shimmer shields (Asakura's stealth-coded line), cool_aegs_s01_bracer_scitem Bracer coolers, qdrv_raco_s01_drift_scitem Drift QDrive, radr_grnp_s01_ecouter Ecouter radar.
Power management (the actual stealth trick)
- Runtime choice, not a loadout swap.
- Sabre has 2× S1 PP and 2× S1 cooler — power one of each off during approach.
- Drop shields during approach (recharge spikes EM); re-engage before contact.
- Re-enable PP/cooler when you commit.
On 4.7's stealth changes
- Passive cross-section removed. Cross-section no longer broadcasts.
- Radar is loadout-dependent. Stealth-class radars are short-range; combat-class are long.
- EM/IR still broadcast. Stay below the enemy radar's threshold and you're invisible until you fire. (ggwtb 4.7 stealth/radar)
Stats at a glance
Burst DPS1,800, Shield HP5,610, EM signature6,500, IR signature3,000, SCM speed223m/s. Cutlass has ~2× the shields and ~2× the EM — you're bringing less of the right stuff, not more.
When not to use this build
- VHRT/ERT bounty. Recommended-tier only. Take Hornet F7C MK II or Paladin for ERT.
- Multi-target combat. "See one, shoot one, leave" profile. Sustained fights spike IR past stealth thresholds.
- Cargo / trade. Zero capacity.
- PvP dueling. Arrow has higher skill ceiling, Hornet hits harder.
